My name is Federica Gherardi and I am Data&Research Director
in AKQA, an international leading design agency part of WPP Group.
In the last 10 years I've been involved in the envisioning of new methodologies able to tackle the challenges of our times and I have let myself been inspired by the emerging fields of awareness-based practices thus becoming Advisor of the Presenting Institute.
With a background in psychology and a personal interest in meditation and mindfulness, I have realised that we can't separate professional carrier from personal growth, in the exact same way our actions can't be detached from our being.
Reading the latest references in the debate about the future of Design, it was clear to me a major topic is missing. Everybody is focused on the intervention whereas the spotlight should be on the inner condition of one who intervenes: the designer.
It is time for each one of us to make business meet consciousness.
